Grade Information + Missed Exams - Semester 1 2023

Dear Students,

The Semester 1 2023 final exams finished last Friday, 16th June 2023. Thus, please note the following points:

  1. The first lot of Semester 1 2023 grades will be released from Wednesday, 28th June 2023 and will continue to be released on a daily basis after that
  2. Once grades are released, you can view them on your SOLS account under the "My Grades" link
  3. All students who are properly registered and have paid their tuition fees in full will be given a grade for each course they are registered for Students who are on Hold for other fees (General Services Fee, Locker Hire, Halls etc) will still be awarded a grade although you may not be able to view it on your Student SOLS account
  4. If you have missed your examination because you were sick, you can either apply for an Aegrotat Pass or Special Exam (fill in the form at the Student Administrative Services or your nearest Campus administration office). 
    1. To qualify for a special exam, you must have a C average coursework mark, a medical reason for missing the exam, medical documentation supporting this reason and covering your absence on the day of your exam, and your application must be approved by your School/Academic Unit
    2. For an Aegrotat Pass, you need to have a B average coursework mark plus meet the earlier stated requirements
  5. If you have missed your examination because of a death in your family or some unusual circumstances, you can either apply for a Compassionate Pass or a Special Exam (fill in the form at the Student Administrative Services or your nearest Campus administration office)
    1. To qualify for a special exam, you must have a C average coursework mark, a valid reason for missing the exam, documentation supporting this reason and covering your absence on the day of your exam, and your application must be approved by your School/Academic Unit 
    2. For a Compassionate Pass, you need to have a B average coursework mark plus meet the earlier stated requirements

    4. Note that applications for this should have been submitted to Student Administrative Services or your nearest Campus admin office during the 2 weeks of exams or by Friday, 23rd June 2023 at the latest. Late applications will not be accepted.
  6. For all sponsored students, a copy of your grade will be emailed to your sponsor as they are the ones who paid for your tuition fees.
  7. Once your results have been officially released, your Semester 1 2023 result slip will be available on your SOLS account under My Grades > Print Result Notification.
