PLF01 introduces students to the politics of the Pacific region and focuses on issues important to contemporary Pacific politics. Students will be introduced to a number of important concepts such as imperialism, sovereignty, neo-colonialism, globalisation and regionalism. The course is particularly concerned with the interaction between outside powers, regional bodies and island states in the Pacific.
